Revolut Unveils Euro-Pegged Stablecoin in Three European Countries
Revolut has launched its European stablecoin, EURR, which is pegged to the euro. The digital token will first be available to customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal before expanding to other parts of the European Economic Area later this year.
The company's EURR stablecoin is issued by Bridg and will be integrated into Revolut's app. This allows users to switch between euros and cryptocurrency on-chain.
Revolut plans to expand its suite of stablecoins in several additional currencies, according to the company. In June, Revolut U.S. CEO Cetin Duransoy mentioned that the company aims to include stablecoins as part of its eventual American banking offering.
