Rial Plummets to New Low Amid Ongoing Conflict and Sanctions
Iran's currency has reached an all-time low of over 2.2 million rials per US dollar, according to two websites tracking the free market rate.
This represents a 10% drop in value over the past week, with the rial having lost nearly half its value in just one year due to tightening US sanctions and the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US-Israeli coalition that began in February.
