Ringgit to Trade Between 4.07-4.09 Against USD Next Week
The Malaysian ringgit is expected to trade between 4.07 and 4.09 against the US dollar next week, driven by market sentiment influenced by key US economic data releases.
According to Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Dr Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid, the coming week will be 'data-heavy' in the US, with several indicators and the labour market scheduled for release.
The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) indices, Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), nonfarm payrolls, and unemployment rate are among the key releases that will shape market sentiment.
A prolonged policy pause in US interest rates cannot be entirely ruled out due to weaker-than-expected second-quarter 2026 US gross domestic product growth, Mohd Afzanizam said.
