Roche, a Swiss pharmaceutical company, reaffirmed its 2026 outlook despite first-half sales falling short of expectations due to a strong Swiss franc and weaker-than-expected US sales of its blockbuster eye drug Vabysmo.

The company's group sales for the first half were down 2% year-on-year at CHF 30.36 billion ($37.34 billion), in line with analyst expectations of around CHF 30.31 billion.

However, operating profit rose 10% at constant exchange rates to CHF 11.86 billion, beating analyst expectations.

Roche's Chief Executive Thomas Schinecker said that the company expects most future deal opportunities to come from the US and China.
