Royal Bank of Canada Posts Record Profit, Payout Hits $4B
Royal Bank of Canada (RY) reported record net income of $6.0 billion for the third quarter of 2026, up $610 million or 11% from the prior year. This growth was driven by higher results in Wealth Management, Capital Markets, and Commercial Banking.
Diluted EPS was $4.23, up 13% over the same period, while adjusted net income and adjusted diluted EPS of $6.1 billion and $4.28 were up 10% and 11%, respectively, from the prior year.
The bank's capital position remains robust, with a CET1 ratio of 13.5%. Royal Bank of Canada returned $4.0 billion to shareholders, including $1.6 billion of share buybacks and $2.4 billion of common share dividends.
