Rupee Edges Up Against Dollar Amid Currencies' Decline
The Pakistani rupee has seen some slight movement against the US dollar in interbank trading. On Friday, it appreciated by just 03 paisa to close at Rs277.32 compared to the previous day's closing of Rs277.35.
The Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market at Rs278.05 and Rs278.55 respectively. Meanwhile, the Euro has seen a decrease against the rupee, with its price dropping by Rs1.02 to close at Rs321.70 compared to the previous day's closing of Rs322.72.
The Japanese Yen remained unchanged at Rs1.80, but the exchange rate of the British Pound witnessed a decline of Rs1.11 and closed at Rs374.63 compared to the previous day's Rs375.74. The Emirate Dirham and Saudi Riyal also saw their exchange rates decrease by 01 paisa each to close at Rs75.50 and Rs73.85 respectively.
