Rupee Extends Gains, Touches 95.64 Against USD in Early Trade
The Indian rupee continued its upward trend on Tuesday, rising 35 paise to 95.64 against the US dollar in early trade.
This gain is attributed to lower crude oil prices due to easing geopolitical tensions between the US and Iran.
Fx traders point out that a weak US dollar index and positive equity market sentiment have also contributed to the rupee's appreciation.
The rupee had appreciated sharply by 54 paise on Monday, closing at 95.99 against the US dollar.
