Rupee Falls as Crude Oil Prices Surge to $106.94
The Indian rupee depreciated against the US dollar on Tuesday due to elevated Brent crude oil prices and heightened tensions in West Asia.
Brent crude touched $106.94 per barrel, causing increased demand for dollars from oil importers and raising concerns over India's external balance and inflation.
Anil Kumar Bhansali, Head of Treasury and Executive Director at Finrex Treasury Advisors LLP, noted that the surge in crude oil prices and heightened tensions have pushed US Treasury yields higher and boosted safe-haven demand for the dollar.
