Rupee Holds Steady Amid Rising Oil Prices
The Indian rupee started the day with minimal changes against the US dollar on September 2. Oil prices surged, and U.S. Treasury yields rose, causing concern about inflation.
According to Finrex, the RBI will closely monitor the rupee's movement as Brent crude prices reach $95.57 per barrel and the dollar index climbs to 99.77. This may lead oil companies to increase their dollar purchases.
The dollar held firm on Wednesday due to renewed hostilities in the Middle East, pushing oil prices higher. Asian currencies mostly traded lower against the dollar, with some exceptions like the South Korean Won rising 0.27% and the Indonesian Rupiah falling 0.12%. The RBI's stance on the rupee will be crucial in determining its value.
