Rupee Holds Steady as US Dollar Remains Stable in Pakistan
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released its Mark-to-Market Currency Rates for August 6, 2026. The US Dollar (USD) remained steady against the Pakistani rupee (PKR), trading at 277.7228 in the ready market. This is down just four paisas from last Tuesday's rate of 277.7732.
The Saudi Riyal (SAR) firmed up to 73.9510, while the UAE Dirham edged up to 75.6202. The Canadian Dollar moved up to 198.2248, wiping nearly 37 paisas from its previous level. The British Pound (GBP) saw a marginal increase to 373.6900.
The forward curve suggests a slow grind of the rupee lower against the greenback. The one-month dollar forward is pricing in another 68 paisas or so of weakening over 30 days, at 279.4072. The three-month and six-month dollar forwards are also trending upward, while the one-year forward remains stable.
