Rupee Sinks 3 Paise to Close Below 95.75 Against USD
The Indian rupee depreciated against the US dollar on Monday, settling at 95.74 (provisional) after paring initial gains.
The rupee opened at 95.65 and touched an intraday high of 95.64 before falling to a low of 95.75, ultimately closing lower by 3 paise from its previous close.
The decline was attributed to a positive American currency and weak domestic markets, with rising Brent crude prices also contributing to investor caution over new US sanctions targeting Iran.
