Rupee Strengthens Amid Equity Market Rally, Dollar Index Rises
The Indian rupee gained strength in early trade on Thursday, rising to 95.63 against the US dollar.
This gain was supported by positive momentum in domestic equity markets and inflows of foreign capital.
However, the rupee's gain was capped by a strong dollar index after the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged.
The dollar index rose 0.06% to 101.79.
Brent crude futures declined 1.26% to $89.60 per barrel amid renewed fear of disruptions in global energy supplies, following fresh flare-ups between the US and Iran.
