Rupee Tumbles to 94.95 Amid Escalating US-Iran Tensions
The Indian rupee began Wednesday's trading session on a weak note, falling to 94.95 against the US dollar.
The currency's decline was largely driven by surging crude oil prices and escalating tensions between the US and Iran, which pushed Brent crude above $99 per barrel in futures trade.
Anuj Choudhary, research analyst at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, attributed the rupee's weakness to geopolitical tensions and rising crude oil prices. He predicted that the currency would continue to trade with a negative bias as long as these factors persist.
