People who frequently fly with budget airline Ryanair may be able to save some money on their bookings by following a simple method recommended by Martin Lewis and his team at MoneySavingExpert (MSE).

The trick involves searching for flights in separate transactions, with the outbound leg as a one-way ticket and the return leg also as a one-way ticket. This can sometimes result in lower prices due to differences in exchange rates.

According to MSE, using local currency instead of one's own when paying for Ryanair tickets can lead to savings. For example, searching for a Warsaw to London flight costs £55.09 in GBP but only £53.04 in Polish złoty, which represents a 3.72% saving.

The team advises against accepting Ryanair's 'guaranteed exchange rate' and instead opting out to use one's bank's exchange rate, which is likely to be more favorable.

It's worth noting that prices do vary depending on dates, times, and airports, so it's essential to experiment with different options to find the best deals. Additionally, MSE cautions against missing this opportunity by failing to realize the potential savings.
