S&P 500 Futures Predict Moderately Bullish Open as Fed Rate-Hike Bets Jump
The S&P 500 futures are suggesting a moderately bullish open on Monday after a Friday close of 7,711.76, down 0.25%.
The implied opening level is approximately 7,731.76, and the cash market closed at 7,711.76 on Friday.
Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole has caused market attention to swing back to inflation and interest rate concerns.
Warsh stated that the Fed's target for inflation remains unchanged at 2% but noted that there is still work to be done if they are unsure about reaching this target.
Earnings growth of over 20% year-over-year for S&P 500 companies has been observed by Warsh, who also pointed out that interest rates could impact valuations, especially in tech and growth stocks.
The September Fed rate-hike probability has jumped to 55.7%, up from 35.4% before the speech.
