S&P 500 Index Surges on Fed Chair Speech and Strong Economic Outlook
The S&P 500 index rose by 0.4% at the end of last week, thanks in part to a speech delivered by the new Federal Reserve chair at the Jackson Hole retreat.
This marks an increase from its previous week's value of 7,711.76, and is attributed to the positive outlook presented by the Atlanta Fed's GDPNow tool.
The tool has raised its forecast for U.S. real GDP growth in Q3 2026 to 4.6%, up from 4.0% just a week earlier.
