Saylor's Strategy Unveils Benchmark for Bitcoin Adoption in Traditional Finance
Michael Saylor's Strategy has unveiled a new benchmark for Bitcoin adoption in traditional finance. The company, which holds almost 844,000 units of Bitcoin on its balance sheet, introduced the Bitcoin Banking Adoption Index last week. This scorecard ranks 25 financial institutions based on their use of Bitcoin, with Fidelity sitting atop the list and Royal Bank of Canada lagging behind.
The index scores institutions in categories such as trading and custody, products, margin, and leadership. The combined score is encouraging, but it also highlights that there's still a lot of work to do for these banking entities to see tangible results from their Bitcoin initiatives. Strategy is positioned as a leader in this new arena, with its experience in integrating the leading cryptocurrency into traditional financial services.
Strategy shares have traded 79% below their record high of $473.83 since November 2024, but management continues to move forward with its crypto plan. This includes introducing benchmarks and ratings that promote innovation in this niche area.
