Schiff and Gammon Disagree on Dollar's Future as Experts Warn of Serious Monetary Problem
Financial experts Peter Schiff and George Gammon agree that the US dollar faces a serious monetary problem, but they disagree on how it will unfold. According to Gammon, the dollar is fundamentally different from currencies that collapsed in countries like Argentina or Weimar Germany because much of the global dollar supply is created through debt.
Gammon argues that this unique characteristic means the dollar's value could be preserved even if other economies contract and default on their debts. He sees contraction as a necessary brake to prevent further economic damage.
On the other hand, Schiff warns that foreigners may lose confidence in the US economy and dump its assets, leading to a flood of dollars back into an economy already running enormous deficits and struggling to produce enough goods.
