Sejko Discusses European Integration and Instant Payments in Montenegro
Albanian Governor Gent Sejko attended a conference in Montenegro focused on central bank credibility, financial stability, and European integration. The event was organized by the Central Bank of Montenegro.
During the panel discussion with other regional governors, Sejko emphasized the importance of credibility for controlling inflation and maintaining public confidence. He also highlighted the need for a stable monetary policy, flexible exchange rate, and strengthened financial system, aligned with European standards.
The Bank of Albania is preparing to implement TIPS Clone, an instant payment system, by the end of the year, which is expected to bring time and money savings for citizens and businesses. Additionally, Albania's membership in SEPA will enable faster and lower-cost payments with European countries.
