Senate Democrats Demand Disclosure from Fed Chairman on Trump Conversations
Four US Senate Democrats have asked Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh to disclose his conversations with President Trump, citing concerns over potential conflicts of interest.
The senators, led by Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, sent a letter to Warsh on Wednesday, pointing out that his official calendars show no record of contact with the president, despite reported frequent meetings.
Warsh was asked for input on the FOMC meeting schedule by several participants in the latest meeting minutes, which were released this week. The minutes also revealed a hawkish bias among some Fed officials, who voted to raise interest rates in July.
