Shilling Holds Steady as Forex Reserves Hit Ksh1.97T
The Kenya shilling maintained its stability against major currencies in the week ending September 10, trading at Ksh129.45 against the dollar on Thursday compared to Ksh129.48 a week earlier.
According to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), the local currency remained stable against both international and regional currencies during this period.
The shilling's weekly average stood at Ksh129.44 against the dollar, with modest movements recorded against the British pound, euro, and regional currencies.
In a boost to its stability, Kenya's foreign exchange reserves increased to about Ksh1.97 trillion by September 10, up from about Ksh1.93 trillion a week earlier.
