Six Arrested for Counterfeit Euro Currency in Ibadan
The Nigeria Police Force's Oyo State Command has made six arrests in connection with counterfeit Euro currency in Ibadan, the state capital. Eighty-nine suspected fake one-hundred-Euro notes were recovered from the suspects.
The arrested individuals include Tijani Saheed, 50, Oni Oladapo, 67, Adebayo Saheed, 52, and Hammed Karemu, 25, a motorcycle rider. Investigation revealed that Oni Oladapo allegedly supplied the counterfeit currency, while Tijani Saheed was found in possession of it.
The suspects led detectives to the location where the money was allegedly purchased, resulting in the recovery of materials suspected to have been used in producing the fake notes and the arrest of the alleged producer. This brought the total number of suspects to six.
