SMFG Officer Natsuhiro Samejima Receives Stock Compensation and Sells Shares
Natsuhiro Samejima, Senior Managing Corporate EO of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (NYSE: SMFG), recently received stock compensation. On July 24, he acquired 1,131 common shares under the company's stock compensation plans with no out-of-pocket cash payments.
A week later, on July 27, Samejima also acquired 16,596 common shares under the same plan, again without making any cash payments.
However, the very same day he disposed of 2,800 shares to the issuer at $43.99 per share, as part of an automatic sale under a pre-arranged trading plan. This plan had been set up to ensure that trades were made in a transparent and planned manner, reducing the risk of impulsive decisions or insider trading.
The acquisition was made in Japanese Yen, which was then converted into U.S. dollars based on the foreign currency exchange rate as of July 27 (JPY 1.00 = USD 0.0061091).
