SNB Forecasters Delay Rate Hike Until Mid-2027 at Earliest
Swiss National Bank (SNB) forecasters have pushed back their predictions for an interest-rate increase, with no move anticipated before June 2027 at the earliest.
A recent Bloomberg survey found that economists who had initially expected borrowing costs to rise as soon as this year now don't see any hike until 2027. In fact, most anticipate a first hike only in early 2028.
The shift in expectations reflects a more cautious approach by SNB forecasters, who are likely taking into account the current economic climate and potential risks to the global economy.
