SoftBank Lands ¥90 Billion Bond Sale with Record Coupon

SoftBank Group Corp. has successfully priced a ¥90 billion ($550 million) bond offering to institutional investors, marking its largest Yen bond sale this year.

The company sold ¥80 billion of three-year notes and ¥10 billion of five-year notes through lead manager Daiwa Securities Co.

The three-year tranche was priced at 165 basis points above Japanese government bonds, while the five-year tranche was priced at 190 basis points over.

Notably, the coupons for these bonds are 3.270% for the three-year notes and 3.886% for the five-year notes, making them the highest paid in a sale to institutional investors by any domestic corporate borrower for these maturities this year.
