The salary ranges for different classifications are as follows: Allied Health Professionals earn between AUD71,217 and AUD159,050 across six classification levels; Medical Scientists receive between AUD78,008 and AUD185,222; Registered Nurses and Midwives have a broader pay range of between AUD74,831 and AUD211,200 depending on their classification level.
Within the medical category, Junior Medical Officers earn between AUD81,814 and AUD144,291, while Senior Medical Officers receive between AUD167,916 and AUD248,077. Senior Consultants sit at the top of the pay scale with base salaries ranging from AUD227,591 to AUD299,884 under the MD2 classification.
The actual total package an employee receives will vary depending on their specific role, qualifications, experience, and the types of work they perform, according to the government. It's also worth noting that employer superannuation contributions are 11% of base salary, and workers may access additional salary sacrifice arrangements on top.
