South Korean Won Edges Up Ahead of Bank of Korea Rate Decision

The South Korean won has gained slightly against the US dollar ahead of the Bank of Korea's (BOK) rate decision, which is set to be announced on Thursday.

The won was quoted at 1,384.8 per dollar at 3:30 p.m., up 1.3 from the previous session's close.

Market watchers are waiting to see if the BOK will raise its benchmark rate for a second consecutive time in July, when it last hiked by 0.25 percentage point to 2.75 percent.
