Spain's Inflation Soars to Fourth Highest in Eurozone
The Deputy Secretary of Economy for the PP, Alberto Nadal, has sounded the alarm about inflation in Spain, which he claims is among the highest in the eurozone. In a recent statement, Nadal noted that Spain's annual inflation rate reached 4.3% in August, surpassing that of Germany, France, and Italy.
The National Institute of Statistics (INE) attributes this increase to rising fuel prices and food costs. This trend is concerning, as it erodes the purchasing power of families and may worsen with the start of the school year and subsequent expenses.
Nadal emphasized that the gap between Spanish inflation and the eurozone average 'continues to grow,' and Spain has now experienced 16 consecutive months with higher prices than its European partners. He warned that this dynamic could harm exports due to increased competitiveness issues.
