Sri Lankan Rupee Strengthens Against Dollar, Bond Yields Steady
Sri Lanka's rupee strengthened against the US dollar in the spot market on Thursday, September 3, 2026, reaching a rate of 328.25/35. This marks an improvement from the previous day's rate of 328.30/60.
The bond yields were somewhat steady, with no significant changes reported. A bond maturing on December 15, 2029 was quoted at 10.35/40 percent, down from 10.30/38 percent, while a bond maturing on August 1, 2030 was quoted at 10.55/60 percent, up from 10.48/50 percent.
The Colombo Stock Exchange indices were also trading up on Thursday morning, with the benchmark All Share Price Index moving up 0.30 percent. The S&P SL20 was up 0.30 percent as well.
