Sri Lankan Rupee Surges Against USD, Selling Rate Below Rs. 340

The Sri Lankan Rupee has strengthened against the US Dollar across commercial banks in Sri Lanka on August 3, compared to last Friday. The selling rate of the USD has dropped below Rs. 340.

According to Seylan Bank, the buying and selling rates of the US Dollar remain unchanged at Rs. 331.50 and Rs. 340.75, respectively. However, other commercial banks have reported changes in their exchange rates.

NDB Bank's buying rate has decreased from Rs. 331.25 to Rs. 331.20, while its selling rate has dropped from Rs. 340.25 to Rs. 340.20. People's Bank has also seen a decrease in its buying and selling rates, from Rs. 331.52 to Rs. 331.17 and from Rs. 340.33 to Rs. 339.98.

In contrast, Commercial Bank reports that the buying rate of the US Dollar has increased from Rs. 329.55 to Rs. 329.80, while its selling rate has also increased from Rs. 339.50 to Rs. 339.75. Sampath Bank's rates remain unchanged at Rs. 331.75 and Rs. 339.75.
