Sri Lanka's Rupee Strengthens Against Dollar Amid Bond Yield Decline
Sri Lanka's rupee strengthened against the US dollar in the spot market on Friday, closing at 327.98/328.04 from 328.50/60 on Tuesday.
Bond yields also declined across various maturity dates, with a bond maturing on 15.02.2028 falling to 9.90/10.00 percent from 10.00/10 percent the previous day.
The Colombo Stock Exchange benchmark index rose 0.20 percent, driven by gains in Cargills and Hayleys, while turnover reached 2.2 billion rupees.
