Stats NZ Seeks Volunteers to Test Online Surveys
Stats NZ is calling for volunteers to test its online surveys, which play a crucial role in gathering information about life in New Zealand and the economy. The organization uses thousands of survey participants every year to gather data that helps inform important decisions such as where services like hospitals, schools, and roads are needed.
According to Stats NZ Interim Chief Methodologist Gary Dunnet, 'The information we gather from surveys is really important to New Zealand.' He explains that clear and easy-to-understand questions are essential for producing robust statistics. To achieve this, Stats NZ is shifting its business surveys online and aims to move all surveys online in the future.
Volunteers can register to test one of the online surveys by completing a registration form on the Stats NZ website. Participants must be at least 18 years old and will receive a $50 voucher for their time. The first sessions will take place in September 2026, lasting about an hour each.
