Stellar Network Powers Stablecoin Clearing Prototype in Bank of England Lab
Nuvanté Technologies Ltd, a digital money clearing infrastructure company, has developed a prototype for stablecoin clearing using the Stellar network. In August 2026, they tested this prototype in the Bank of England's RTGS (Real-Time Gross Settlement) Synchronisation Lab.
The prototype demonstrated how fiat-backed stablecoins and other digital assets can be issued, redeemed, and exchanged through a neutral clearing layer. This process allows for safe and efficient exchange of digital money between issuers, banks, and payment firms.
Nuvanté's participation in the Lab focused on multi-money issuance and redemption, including stablecoin-to-stablecoin and stablecoin-to-fiat flows. The project used the Stellar network to support the movement and orchestration of digital assets.
