Sterling Edges Higher on Meets US CPI Forecasts
The US August CPI numbers met forecasts, causing sterling to edge 0.10% higher against the Dollar.
Headline CPI rose 0.4% month on month and 3.4% year on year, while core CPI increased 0.3% against 0.2% expected and was 2.4% over 12 months, down from 2.5% in July.
The US Dollar Index (DXY) is near 99.00 and down 0.05%, with rate expectations shifting ahead of Wednesday's Federal Reserve decision.
