Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Total Over $75 Billion Amid Strong Cash Reserves
Strategy Inc., the listed bitcoin proxy, has reported its latest financials to the SEC. As of August 23, the company holds a significant reserve, with $5.10 billion in cash and a further $1.59 billion in US dollar reserves. These funds are earmarked for preferred dividends and debt service.
The company's holdings include an impressive 840,447 Bitcoins, acquired at an aggregate cost of $75.39 billion. While this may seem like a significant position, the equity trades as a leveraged derivative of the underlying token rather than on its software business.
Analysts note that the distinctions between the reserve and unencumbered coin pile are crucial. The coverage of fixed obligations determines how much drawdown in the token the capital structure can absorb before dilution or sales enter the conversation.
