Strong Dollar and Fed Uncertainty Weigh on Precious Metals
Gold and silver prices continued their decline on Tuesday, weighed down by a stronger US dollar and rising expectations of a restrictive Federal Reserve policy.
The US dollar remained near a one-month high, making dollar-denominated precious metals more expensive for buyers using other currencies. This led to gold trading at around $4,045.29 per ounce, down 0.7%, while U.S. gold futures slipped 0.8% to around $4,045.20.
Silver also fell significantly, with spot prices dropping approximately 1.8% to around $57.30 per ounce.
