Sumitomo Mitsui Grants Stock Awards to Senior Executive
Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) recently granted stock awards to its Senior Managing Corporate EO, Hideki Takamatsu. On July 24, 2026, he received 1,131 shares of common stock under the company's stock compensation plans without any out-of-pocket cash payment.
Two days later, on July 27, Takamatsu was awarded an additional 12,549 shares when performance conditions were certified. However, a portion of these shares, totaling 2,100, was automatically sold back to the issuer at $43.9900 per share under a pre-arranged trading plan.
The sale price was calculated in Japanese yen and then converted into U.S. dollars using an exchange rate of Japanese Yen 1.00 = U.S. dollar 0.0061091. The shares were sold on the same day they were acquired, following the company's stock compensation plans.
