Swiss Companies Test Stablecoin Pegged to Franc
Nine Swiss companies have joined forces to test a new programmable payment system using a stablecoin pegged to the Swiss franc, CHFD. This initiative aims to reduce fraud on online marketplaces, ensure fair access to event tickets, and make public payments more efficient.
The sandbox project has added two new partners: SIX, a financial market operator, and TWINT, a payment app. They join numerous banks in the testing phase of CHFD. The goal is to develop a Swiss franc-based stablecoin for digital asset settlement.
The pilot will explore the benefits of programmable payments, such as reduced fraud on online marketplaces and fairer access to event tickets. The project's participants hope that this technology can make public payments more efficient.
