Swiss Franc Edges Higher Against US Dollar Despite Strong ZEW Expectations

The Swiss Franc has ticked up against the US Dollar despite strong ZEW economic expectations data. The USD/CHF pair slipped to 0.8840, down 0.2% on the day.

The ZEW-Credit Suisse Economic Expectations indicator rose to -5.8 in February, a significant improvement from -17.7 in January, marking the highest level in over a year.

This positive data suggests that financial market experts are becoming more optimistic about Switzerland's economic outlook, driven by expectations of easing inflation and potential support from the Swiss National Bank (SNB).

However, the franc's gains were limited as the US Dollar remained supported by resilient US economic data and ongoing Federal Reserve policy tightening expectations.
