Swiss Franc Slips Ahead of Key US Inflation Data Release
The Swiss Franc (CHF) is trading lower against the U.S. Dollar (USD) ahead of the July Consumer Price Index (CPI) release, scheduled for 12:30 GMT on Wednesday.
Market participants are positioning cautiously as analysts at ING expect subdued inflation numbers, with headline CPI seen at 0.1% month-on-month and core at 0.2%.
This would imply the annual rates dropping to 3.4% and 2.5% respectively, inching closer to the Fed's 2% inflation target.
The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) is marginally higher, hovering near 99.88, as investors wait for the CPI release.
