Swiss Franc Weakens Against US Dollar Amid Anticipation of Soft US Inflation Data
The Swiss Franc has weakened against its major currency peers during the European trading session on Wednesday. As of writing, USD/CHF is trading 0.17% higher at around 0.8125.
This move comes as the US Dollar edges up ahead of the United States' Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, scheduled to be published at 12:30 GMT.
Analysts at ING note that a 'soft number' on core inflation could weigh on the Dollar's value. They expect the year-on-year rates to drop to 3.4% and 2.5% respectively, inching closer to the Fed's 2% inflation target.
