Swiss Franc Weakens Despite Improved Investor Sentiment

The Swiss Franc has continued to weaken against major currencies despite an improvement in investor sentiment as indicated by the latest ZEW Economic Expectations survey for Switzerland.

The survey, which measures financial market experts' six-month economic outlook for Switzerland, showed a significant rise in optimism about future economic conditions. However, this positive sentiment was not enough to reverse the Franc's recent downtrend.

The main driver of the Franc's weakness is the persistent strength of major currencies such as the US Dollar and Euro, fueled by expectations of tighter monetary policy from central banks in these regions. In contrast, the Swiss National Bank maintains a dovish stance, keeping interest rates low to prevent excessive Franc appreciation.

This policy divergence makes the Franc less attractive to yield-seeking investors, leading to its continued weakness against other major currencies.
