Swiss Life posted stronger first-half results for 2026, with net profit rising 8% in local currency to CHF 649 million and operating earnings increasing by the same margin to CHF 967 million. The company's fee result surged 11% to CHF 430 million, while its return on equity improved to 20.2% from 17.6% a year earlier.

The insurer attributed the strong performance to broad-based growth across its business lines, with stronger fee generation and higher net investment income contributing to the results. In Switzerland, premiums rose 7% to CHF 6.8 billion, outpacing a flat market, while in Germany, premiums increased 3% despite a 4% decline in the market.

Despite the robust first-half performance, Swiss Life shares slipped 0.9% to $914.3 following the earnings announcement. The company's share price remains below its 52-week high of $961.4 but above its low of $793.2.
