Swiss National Bank Sees Record Q2 Profit on Equity Rally

The Swiss National Bank reported a significant increase in profit during its second quarter, thanks to rising equity markets that offset declines in gold valuations.

The bank's profit for Q2 reached 25.7 billion Swiss francs ($31.84 billion), a sharp turnaround from the CHF 22 billion loss in Q2 2025 and outperforming UBS forecasts of a profit between 19-24 billion Swiss francs.

This profit increase is attributed to the bank's currency reserves, which include gold, equities, and bonds and fluctuate with financial markets. The rally in equity markets helped compensate for the plunge in gold prices.
