Swiss Stablecoin Initiative Enters Test Phase with SIX and TWINT On Board
The Swiss CHF stablecoin initiative has entered its test phase, with financial infrastructure operator SIX and payment provider TWINT joining as new partners. This brings the total number of participating companies to nine, including UBS, PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank, BCV, and Swiss Stablecoin AG.
The tests are taking place within a secure digital sandbox environment, with a focus on CHFD, a stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 peg to the Swiss franc. The platform is run by CHFD Infrastruktur AG, a subsidiary of Swiss Stablecoin AG.
The test phase, which has been ongoing since June, is expected to continue until the end of 2026. Organisers say they aim to understand where a CHF stablecoin could add value and identify any challenges or regulatory requirements for future development.
