Switzerland's Real Wages to Grow 0.7% Over Next 12 Months
The Swiss economy is showing signs of recovery after several years of declining real wages. According to the KOF economic research institute, linked to ETH Zurich, real wages in Switzerland are expected to grow by 0.7% over the next 12 months.
This growth rate surpasses the past decade's average real wage growth of 0.2%. The forecast is based on a survey of about 3,500 private-sector companies and provides a comprehensive view of the job market.
The improvement in real wages is significant because it determines what an income can buy in everyday terms. A modest rise like this can support consumer spending and help families recover some of the ground lost during the recent inflation squeeze.
