Tecan Group shares dropped by as much as 13.4% to an intraday low of 175 Swiss francs on Tuesday, after the company announced that its second-quarter order growth slowed to flat from 7% in the first quarter.

The Swiss lab equipment maker's first-half results did beat consensus estimates, with Tecan reporting sales of 427.5 million Swiss francs, a 3.4% increase in local currencies and a 2.7% decrease in reported terms.

The company's Life Sciences Business segment saw sales rise by 3.1% in local currencies, driven by growth in biopharma and diagnostics, while the Partnering Business segment experienced 3.6% growth in local currencies, fueled by increases in diagnostics and medtech.

Tecan confirmed its full-year 2026 guidance of low single-digit local-currency sales growth and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 15.5% to 16.5%, with the company now expecting to finish toward the upper end of that range.
