Tillamook Unemployment Rate Edges Up to 5.3%

Tillamook County's unemployment rate ticked up to 5.3% in June, mirroring its level from the same month last year. The seasonally adjusted figure for May was slightly lower at 5.2%. The Oregon Employment Department provides these statistics.

The nonfarm payroll employment in Tillamook decreased by 40 jobs in June, reaching a total of 9,610 jobs. However, this was still an increase of 190 jobs from the previous month, with the private sector adding 190 new positions and government employment remaining stable.

The leisure and hospitality industry saw significant growth, adding 140 jobs, while nondurable goods manufacturing gained 60 jobs. In contrast, accommodation lost 30 jobs, and local government experienced a loss of 40 jobs over the year.
