Tinubu Administration Seeks Diaspora Investment at Maiden Conference in Toronto

Nigeria has sent a high-powered delegation to Canada for the maiden Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference (NIDEC) 2026, themed 'Invest Nigeria, Thrive Abroad.'

The conference, scheduled from August 12 to 15 in Toronto, will bring together policymakers, investors, business leaders, and Nigerian diaspora members to explore investment opportunities across key sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the delegation underscores President Bola Tinubu's administration commitment to leveraging diaspora resources for economic growth, attracting foreign direct investment, and deepening bilateral trade with Canada.

The Federal Government delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Governors Charles Soludo of Anambra State, Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.
