Tinubu Sends High-Powered Delegation to Canada for Diaspora Investment Conference

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has sent a high-powered delegation to Canada for the inaugural Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference. The conference, themed 'Invest Nigeria, Thrive Abroad,' aims to promote investment opportunities in Nigeria and strengthen economic ties between the country and its diaspora community.

The delegation is headed by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and includes five state governors: Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.

The conference will take place in Toronto from August 12 to 15, 2026, and is expected to attract Nigerian diaspora investors and international business leaders. The delegation also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

NiDCOM Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the conference reflects President Tinubu's commitment to expanding economic cooperation between Nigeria and Canada through trade, investment, and diaspora engagement. The discussions at the event will focus on agriculture, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and the digital economy.
